With over five years of work experience in the nonprofit sector, I am passionate about advancing the rights and interests of children and youth through policy and advocacy. I have a bachelor's degree in sociology and a minor in women's and gender studies, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to understand and address the complex and intersectional issues that affect children's lives. As a policy and advocacy associate at Committee for Children (CFC), I support the organization's mission of creating safe children thriving in a peaceful world by researching, developing, and promoting policies and programs that foster social-emotional learning (SEL) in schools and communities. In my current role, I work with a team of policy experts, researchers, and educators to identify and analyze policy opportunities and challenges related to SEL at the local, state, and federal levels. I also engage with various stakeholders, such as lawmakers, policymakers, advocates, educators, and parents, to communicate and advocate for CFC's policy positions and recommendations. I contribute to the creation and dissemination of policy briefs, reports, newsletters, and other materials that showcase CFC's policy work and impact.
