Refined my skills in researching innovative ways of marketing various products to different demographic groups noting the importance of global and current trend cycles. I realised here that I could combine my scientific qualifications and discipline with my love for creativity, arts and marketing. I attended team presentations and meetings, developed and presented my own brand/product research to colleagues and improved my skills with various creative IT software in this role.

I was responsible for the care and management for my school's horses. I learned the basics of equine healthcare and nutrition which provided me with a strong foundation for my bachelors in animal science. I learned to network with horse owners, equestrians and school sponsors which sharpened my interpersonal and communicative abilities. I was in charge of supervising younger equestrians and organising their competition schedules which allowed me to grow as a good role model for my school and my community.

My passion in animal healthcare and science led me to frequently intern at this small animal veterinary hospital during my holidays. I shadowed the lead surgeon for many operations and also worked closely with the animal radiologist and physiotherapist. This allowed me to further explore my interests in animal medicine, therapy and welfare. Communicating professionally with the animal owners and management of in house animal patients were also roles I undertook during my time here

Apart from using my summer breaks to intern at a veterinary hospital, I also interned at a racetrack and shadowed the lead veterinarian on race days. I learned how animal experts conducted their routine check-ups on horses flown from various parts of the world. This included how authorities checked for doping, reject or accept the immigration of foreign horses (in accordance with Malaysia's specific policy on equine tourism) and the appropriate paperwork that needed to be organised and submitted regularly to the board of management of the racetrack. I was given the opportunity to promote and communicate with guests and racehorse owners about the importance of equine welfare in a consumer environment (which inspired me in my choice of bachelors).
