A permanent role within the Western Treatment Plant (WTP) Capacity Increase Phase 2 project which UGL Limited is in joint venture with CPB Contractors. The project entails the delivery of four major Bio-Reactor Tanks to increase capacity to treat Melbourne's sewage water by 140 million litres per day.During this role as Project Engineer I have been appointed to the following duties and responsibilities:• Procurement of project resources• Documentation of project methodology and programme• Liaison with suppliers and subcontractors• Contract administration• Budget forecasting for main component of civil works• Delivery of Major Earthworks component

• Extensive interaction and communication with the Operations Manager, Safety and Environmental Officer, key subcontractors, designers and other engineers and suppliers• Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the large scale, Civil Engineering Industry, along with contemporary business practices, methods of operation, OH&S and legislation matters, plus ongoing technological advancements • Staff supervision of 3-7 site engineers plus selection and overseeing sub-contractors• Financial control of expenditure budgets of up to $2.5M. This is in addition to budgetary planning and forecasting, management of information and documents for audit purposes• Daily workflow management for both engineering personnel and sub-contractors• Procurement of all materials on a continuing basis throughout each project• Involvement in tenders – Expressions of Interest – analysis of submissions and assessment of key elements such as: price, reputation, recommendations and conducting interviews• Administrative management of: various reporting and recording activities, prioritization of work and usual office management functions

• Melbourne Water Alliance - Clayton Wetlands $5M: This project involved transforming a 20 hectare flood plane into a wetland, conservation area complete with four interconnected ponds, concrete drainage and landscaping. Primary responsibilities involved key stakeholder relationship management with Melbourne Water, the Council and community groups; management of productivity and overseeing the sub-contractors. Action taken resulted in the following award: ‘Melbourne Water Alliance Award 2011’ for ‘Outstanding service and commitment to the Clayton Wetlands Project’

Selected project examples:• Berwick Cranbourne Road Duplication $17M: Gained good understanding of Vic Roads standards and requirements; review procurement; tracking productivity; quality control as per Vic Roads specification • Walmer Street Sewage System $2.5M: managed the entire project from identification of the critical path; programming time lines; procurement of resources; budget forecast; stakeholder engagement.
