Having worked for the City of Tampa for six years as a code enforcement officer, and privately as a certified home inspector, Ivan Colon developed a true love for the community. Originally from Manhattan, Ivan earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice with a concentration on homeland security from East Coast Polytechnical Institute University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. A retired United States Marine, Ivan completed two combat tours in Iraq, serving as a rifleman and later as an imagery intelligence analyst. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in criminology from the University of Tampa. In his spare time, he loves to travel and network within the community. He also enjoys boating and water sports such as deep-sea fishing and scuba diving. Ivan is also actively involved in several veterans’ organizations, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, the Wounded Warrior Project, and Veteran Affairs.USMC Retired
