Act as critical design lead in the development of a variety of Navy high power sonar transducers and arrays, including high performance piezoelectric single crystal. Key developer in employing a new piezo-electric textured ceramic. Model using equivalent circuit theory, and mathematical and finite element modeling. Measuring and troubleshooting via experimental laboratory work, including high voltage partial discharge testing, shaker head, laser doppler vibrometer, complex optical evaluation system, impedence analyzer, and other test equipment.

Research on high frequency annular thermoacoustic devices with emphasis on the onset for oscillations, line width of emitted radiation, coherence, instabilities in the acoustic waveguide, interfacing for energy conversion, miniaturization, interfacing with sources of heat, and array development. Developed Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) technique to measure fast acoustic flows. Developed Atomis Force Microscope to study the friction properties of quasi crystal film and its practical applications.

Completed research pertaining to high frequency thermoacoustic annular devices, including designing the devices in a CAD program, overseeing the machining of parts for the devices, assembling, testing and revising design as needed. Studied fluid dynamic patterns using PIV. Worked independently to set-up, calibrate and maintain PIV equipment.
