Along with part-time compatriots, I have led Portal:GI in exponential growth of 1600% attendance since 2008. At its inception, 4heads had scarce resources. We have consistently managed to pull off New York’s largest independent exhibition while remaining true to our core values:• For artists, by artists• Inclusion/diversity/artistic excellence• Free art fairs, exhibitions, residencies and education programs• Reflective of NYC’s socially, economically, and culturally diverse constituents• Revitalize historic/under-utilized spaces with contemporary art • Hands off curation—focus on supporting artists in establishing and manifesting their vision- - - - - -• Established and managed programing and production of annual Governors Island Art Fair and Portal NYC Art Fair, with 100 underrepresented and emerging artists and over 40,000 visitors annually• Created an artist residency program serving 20 artists annually• Coordinated and managed volunteer staff of 15 annually • Managed contracts, insurance and permits with national and local governments• Consistently and effectively interacted with federal and local government officials, organizations, and community leadership in a positive manner to accomplish mission-driven objectives• Established nonprofit status, sustaining 4heads through an annual grant and donation campaign • Created 4heads corporate and production branding • Lead project manager, artist liaison, production management- - - - - -• Made art accessible by developing a culturally enriching vision and mission of inclusion, diversity, and artistic excellence, creating a bridge between underrepresented artists, the public, and the NYC art market• Generated impactful educational programing, working with leading community organizations including Lower East Side Girls Club and the Chinatown YMCA
