I am responsible for writing and proofreading copy across multiple channels including press ads, catalogues, blogs, social media posts, EDMs and other digital assets. GP Advertising is the in-house agency of a major Australian retailer and my work appears daily in newspapers across the country. I research and write copy across a range of product categories, adhere to and help formulate brand guidelines, liaise with clients and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with Australian advertising regulations.

As an instructor at Hunter Valley Martial Arts Centre (HVMAC), I was responsible for teaching students of all skill levels from ages three all the way up to adults. I tought either alone or as part of a team of instructors that I would be required to coordinate and lead while on the floor. Through this job, I developed high-level communication and leadership abilities as well a friendly and personable manner to build a rapport with students.

As a Content Writer for the University of Newcastle’s Navigator student blog, I pitch and write articles that encourage student success and help build a stronger UON community. Articles can cover topics as diverse as study advice, mental and physical health tips, and stories from both alumni and current students. As part of this position I am required to have good time management, excellent written communication skills, and high level research and interviewing skills.

As Digital Managing Editor of the University of Newcastle's Yak Media, I am responsible for coordinating everything that goes onto our online platform. I lead a team of student writers, working with them to create entertaining and informative content that engages our audience. I, along with my deputy editor, edit all of the articles that appear on the site. I also write my own articles for the site and for Yak Media's print magazine.I liaise with our video production, design and promotions team to ensure that all content we publish is high-quality and well promoted. I am also responsible for the bulk of Yak Media's correspondence with other media organisations and UON community members.I previously served as a writer and the Deputy Digital Managing Editor at Yak Media.

During an eight-week placement, I worked as an intern in Southern Cross Austereo Newcastle's newsroom. While in the newsroom I used Newsboss, wrote stories for bulletins and stories for their website, interviewed local and state politicians, edited audio grabs and assisted with administrative tasks. I also was given the opportunity to observe and learn about how to operate a radio studio panel.
