As First officer I am responsible for Safety and Security of the aircraft and passengers and Cargo on board. Duties include; assisting the Commander in flight preparation and operation of the aircraft. Conducting Pre-flight inspection of aircraft to ensure all navigation, safety and operating systems are working properly. Maintaining familiarity with Norwegian’s Operations Manual as necessary to fulfil my function both professionally and safely. Conducting the flight in compliance with the current flight plan, Norwegian’s operating policies and procedures and the Commander’s instructions, to ensure the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check upon both the geographical position of the aircraft ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance. Providing such advice, information and assistance without hesitation if required, to the Commander as may contribute favourably towards the safe and efficient conduct of the flight. Assisting the commander as requested, concerning any administrative duties in relation to the flight. Communication with air traffic control unit during take-off, cruise approach and landing as well as regular contact with cabin crew to ensure safety, comfort, and convenience of all passengers. Maintaining a high personal standard of discipline, conduct and appearance as a representative of Norwegian at all times.
