Worked under Revolutionary Technology Programs on the Compact Fusion Reactor (CFR) experiment. Was responsible for designing, building, testing, baseline and improvements of the Ultra High Vacuum systems necessary for CFR to produce fusion. Collaboration work to develop a Magneto Plasma Discharge (MPD) target plasma source. Built the MPD Hydrogen gas delivery system. Assisted in MPD assembly, experiments, and data acquisition. Designed and built the Critical Ionization Velocity (CIV) plasma source gas delivery system.
Radar Cross Section Analyst• Performed predictive analysis of various CAD models by using proprietary tools to support efforts of Signature Integration/Optimization and Multiple Discipline Optimization (MDO).
University Of Utah
High-Frequency Eddy Currents for Electrodynamic Separation of Materials• Modeled the forces of high-frequency magnetic fields resulting in successful scrap metal separation as part of a $3.8 million ARPA-E funded project. • Performed data analysis using computational physics and advanced mathematics to identify experimental limitations in experiment design and drive creative solutions. • Worked on high voltage and high powered electromagnetic equipment; solved inductance problems at high frequencies that were obstructing experimental work. • Determined velocities of aluminum, brass, and copper alloy particles being sorted, identified samples using X-ray fluorescence analyzer, designed and 3-D printed components using CAD software for the use in laboratory tests.
Physics Department
Ultra High Energy Cosmic Ray, Telescope Array, under Professor John Matthews • Operated cosmic ray observatory which utilizes 38 telescopes to observe fluorescent light tracks from cosmic ray induced extensive air showers which accomplished identifying a potential source of cosmic rays in the universe. • Installed Xenon flasher light beams to test timing and telescope track reconstruction enabling synchronization of telescopes when gathering cosmic ray shower event data.• Performed Monte Carlo analysis of the cosmic ray data and identified potential outer space regions where the cosmic rays maybe have originated. • Visited and repaired surface scintillator detectors to sample the density of particles in the cosmic ray induced air shower footprints, when they reached the earth's surface.
