Responsible for providing assistance to the nursing team in the care of the surgical patient. Duties include:- Obtaining equipment, supplies and positioning aids for operative cases.- Assisting with setting up the operating room, holding limbs for surgical prep, and assisting with patient positioning under the direction of the RN circulator.- Dismantling and transporting dirty instruments and equipment to the decontamination area.- Performing room cleaning and turnover duties between cases and patient transport.- Performing final checks of case carts to ensure that all needed supplies and equipment are available for surgical procedures.

Oversee the day to day operations at the Pulse (McMaster’s campus gym). Duties include: payroll, scheduling, hiring, inventory management, and promotional activity.

Mactivate Your Mind, Body & Spirit (YMBS) is a service offered by the Athletics and Recreation department at McMaster University that aims to help students who are struggling with their mental health, or who are currently inactive, experience the benefits of physical activity. The program works to break down any barriers that might be in their way of participating. My role as program coordinator is to develop the program, receive and manage referrals, and to regularly check in with participants and volunteers.

Summer session: Attended daily webinars focused on topics such as medical school anatomy, virtual OR procedures, hospital administration, cardiology, neurology, and medical school preparation. These sessions were delivered by doctors, nurses, and administrative staff at Lenox Hill Hospital.Winter session: Attended a one day webinar featuring a live OR surgery, diversity and inclusion talk, RNA mediated-mechanisms lesson, being a primary care doctor discussion, and information on medical school admission and curriculum.
