Research And Development Associate
CurrentAs a Radiation Detection, Imaging, and Simulation scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, I work on an assortment of projects seeking to develop new methods and technologies for both active and passive imaging using gamma radiation and/or neutrons. My responsibilities on these projects include• Generating simulation data for detector characterization and optimization.• Creating analysis routines for detector localization, correcting inefficiencies and imaging artifacts, synthesis of multiple datasets or disparate types of data, etc.• Developing imaging methods for use outside of controlled laboratory settings as precursor for potential field deployment. The goal of these projects is to produce a new generation of radiation imaging devices capable of providing more accurate and comprehensive information for the purposes of identifying and quantifying nuclear materials or interrogating objects of interest to nuclear security and non-proliferation.
