Developed a data pipeline and visualization tool to allow for automated standardization and analytics of input structured data for a client in the healthcare space. This data was displayed on dashboards to allow for exploration and automated generation of output reports. These notifications prompt the user when key chemical processes are likely to deviate from optimal operating conditions. Position summary: Co-founded Innovation4Health, a healthcare innovation competition allowing teams of student innovators to collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop technology that tackles real-world healthcare problems. As the innovators lead, I recruited students from across the university who were ready and eager to take on today's healthcare challenges.- Recruited 140+ innovators to a design competition pairing innovators with real-world challenges in healthcare. The innovators designed and prototyped solutions to the challenges in a 3-week period and the most successful projects were given entrepreneurship- based prizes.- Communicated with teams throughout the competition. Position summary: Co-founded Re-able, a company developing engaging e-health technology for actionable stroke recovery. Re-able’s first product, The Move, is a wrist-worn medical device designed to motivate recovery in stroke survivors with upper limb disability. As a co-founder, I was involved in understanding the key challenges, designing a solution, recruiting and leading a team to develop our solution and engaging with key stakeholders and funders.- Raised over $20,000 by demonstrating exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in pitching and grant proposal writing.- Maintained focus despite conflicting demands to develop two pieces of novel technology from design concept to prototype, delivering improved results over the competition.- Used machine learning on gyroscope and accelerometer data to classify key movements (sitting, standing, walking) and worked with the team to refine these algorithms.- Took the initiative to improve skills in budgeting, finance, product design, and creative thinking to overcome obstacles in fundraising, product development, and early-company management.

Medbrain develops state-of-the-art deep-learning-based artificial intelligence (AI) for precision medicine. I was enthusiastic to contribute to project definition and deep learning algorithm development, supporting a project using AI in classifying chest X-rays based on disease type. Key technologies used: pandas, keras, numpy, tensorflowWorked with data scientists and subject matter experts to classify large data sets of chest X-rays (100,000+) by disease. Implemented convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithms using Numpy, Tensorflow, and Keras. Used code versioning tools (Github) to collaborate and adhere to software development best practices. Demonstrated effective communication through primary authorship of ethics applications, project definition with clients, and frequent check-ins with remote team members.
