Developed a data pipeline and visualization tool to allow for automated standardization and analytics of input structured data for a client in the healthcare space. This data was displayed on dashboards to allow for exploration and automated generation of output reports. Key technologies used: AWS, Airflow, Tableau, Oracle.- Developed a data pipeline using Apache Airflow for ETL and analytics of structured healthcare data, Oracle for storage, and Tableau for data visualizations- moving from a proof of concept to MVP in 3 months. Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software systems based on client need, stability and scalability. - Developed scripts to automate common tasks such as unit testing, integration testing and investigating intermediate pipeline outputs. Worked together with teammates on code reviews and ideation of new features.- On the side of my individual contributions, I worked as a team lead- working with the clients to understand their needs and feature requests. Taking the client requests, I worked with the internal team to prioritize backlog features, estimate effort, and commit to feature development on an ongoing sprint-by-sprint basis. Coordinated deployments with the larger team to ensure a smooth transition from development to production. - Grew the team from 1-6 in 2021- my contributions included defining strategy for the work, onboarding new contributors, knowledge-transfer to ramp up individuals, check-ins to ensure proper development, leading huddles to keep the team up to date on progress.

Position summary: Developed 12 machine learning models for a major energy company using IoT sensor data to provide early-warning notifications to operational leads in oil and gas extraction. These notifications prompt the user when key chemical processes are likely to deviate from optimal operating conditions. Key technologies used: IBM Cloud, IBM Streams, Kafka, MongoDB, Jenkins, sklearn, pandasSaved the client $20MM/year by turning their data into insights. Used initiative, a quick feedback loop and creative problem solving to develop ML models quickly while working under tight timelines (6 weeks/model).Developed a set of time-series ML models from the problem definition stage through exploratory data analysis, data standardization, feature development, feature selection, model selection, deployment and monitoring using python and hosted on IBM Cloud. Wrote and maintained robust, efficient, and testable code using design patterns, object orientation (i.e. object-oriented programming), and machine learning frameworks.Wrote modular, idiomatic, and stylistically consistent code that is easy to read and is well documented. Participated in code reviews to improve model performance, scalability and resilience.Developed code to assist the dev-ops process, allowing for faster testing and packaging, as well as tools to support monitoring and explanatory algorithms. Worked with data engineers who used Jenkins to enable CI/CD practices.

Position summary: Co-founded Innovation4Health, a healthcare innovation competition allowing teams of student innovators to collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop technology that tackles real-world healthcare problems. As the innovators lead, I recruited students from across the university who were ready and eager to take on today's healthcare challenges.- Recruited 140+ innovators to a design competition pairing innovators with real-world challenges in healthcare. The innovators designed and prototyped solutions to the challenges in a 3-week period and the most successful projects were given entrepreneurship- based prizes.- Communicated with teams throughout the competition. Mentored teams and communicated future opportunities to aid teams in commercializing their designs.

Position summary: Co-founded Re-able, a company developing engaging e-health technology for actionable stroke recovery. Re-able’s first product, The Move, is a wrist-worn medical device designed to motivate recovery in stroke survivors with upper limb disability. As a co-founder, I was involved in understanding the key challenges, designing a solution, recruiting and leading a team to develop our solution and engaging with key stakeholders and funders.- Raised over $20,000 by demonstrating exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in pitching and grant proposal writing.- Maintained focus despite conflicting demands to develop two pieces of novel technology from design concept to prototype, delivering improved results over the competition.- Used machine learning on gyroscope and accelerometer data to classify key movements (sitting, standing, walking) and worked with the team to refine these algorithms.- Took the initiative to improve skills in budgeting, finance, product design, and creative thinking to overcome obstacles in fundraising, product development, and early-company management.

Medbrain develops state-of-the-art deep-learning-based artificial intelligence (AI) for precision medicine. I was enthusiastic to contribute to project definition and deep learning algorithm development, supporting a project using AI in classifying chest X-rays based on disease type. Key technologies used: pandas, keras, numpy, tensorflowWorked with data scientists and subject matter experts to classify large data sets of chest X-rays (100,000+) by disease. Implemented convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithms using Numpy, Tensorflow, and Keras. Used code versioning tools (Github) to collaborate and adhere to software development best practices. Demonstrated effective communication through primary authorship of ethics applications, project definition with clients, and frequent check-ins with remote team members.
