• Designed CNC machined aluminum uprights using SolidWorks FEA to model the stresses and deflections seen under acceleration, cornering, and braking loads • Analyzed & designed welded steel components for the rear suspension (control arms, push and tie rods) using hand calculations to achieve high stiffness specifications at a light weight

Designed a 3-axis, pneumatic actuator operated clearance check tool to check for interferences between engines andsurrounding components for 9 first stage engines, saving 40+ man hours per booster• Ensured ease of operator use with multi position user interface panel, DOF analysis on alignment components, and customplumbing for integrated air bearings• Revamped grid fin actuators to eliminate corrosion and interfaces at high risk for stress corrosion cracking to extend reusablelife; verified effectiveness of changes with salt fog and functional testing• Led corrosion investigation of flown solenoid valves, that resulted in adding necessary check valves to valves across stage 1• Tested and qualified new corrosion inhibitive compound for use on Falcon 9, critical for components requiring realignment

• Designed high tolerance mechanical stages for 10-6 torr vacuum in a vacuum process tool for high volume production • Created tooling to calibrate the relative positions of stages within the process tool with repeatability of at least 3 microns to determine machine states• Designed and tested a fluid dispense system incorporating a precision syringe, custom fluid tank with temperature and volume sensors, and plumed with pneumatic lines • Characterized the volume dispensed by numerous parameters to achieve a 60 microliter dispense with +/- 1 microliter repeatability; providing vital validation of the precise dispense requirements for the processes’ success• Performed stiffness calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) for the tool’s baseplate and interfacing components to ensure operational load deflections remained under 5 microns and were suitable for reliable transfer of the product between stages
