Whether it is a standard product offering, the launch of a new product line, or the delivery of a custom solution I have had to adapt to growing challenges through the bid process as the sole Proposal Manager supporting 5 regional salesman spread over 8 time zones. My daily requirements include leading diverse, internal bid teams in responding to customer specific bid specifications and building accurate cost models to comply with the customer’s requirements. When required, this also includes working with external vendors to obtain RFQs for anything from custom hardware solutions to shipment costs and timelines. My largest success in taking on Proposal Management has been removing this process as a bottle neck to the sales process as a whole. I was able to do this by building and maintaining an offline, macro based cost model in Microsoft Excel that saw a standard RFQ go from a 2 hour process down to 30 minutes. Notable Accomplishments:- Responded to RFQ, RFP, and RFI from internal and external stakeholders- Worked with sales teams to define scope of supply- Lead multi-discipline bid teams to review and respond to buyer specific bid specifications- Assisted in defining pricing strategy - Diligently monitored and controlled cost estimations- Built and maintained an integrated cost estimation template to accurately predict cost, price, and margin- Followed the bid process from an initial sales opportunity to internal handoff at project kickoff- Continuously tracked project risk and implemented risk management guidelines throughout the bid process
