To most people I'm quiet and reserved, not really a talker. In reality, I'm a closet extrovert: talkative and will take control when needed. If you see me around town I usually have an upset look on my face, am looking around, but rarely make eye contact. You see me on the Ponder campus however, and I'm talking, laughing, and saying hello to everyone I see.My first year teaching I didn't know a whole lot about Biology. Being the mom-labeled perfectionist that I am I stayed up late each night learning not only what to teach, but more importantly how to teach it. Six years later and I've had the highest test scores in the county four years running, not because of my knowledge of Biology, but because of my ability to make relationships with the students I come in contact with. My philosophy is that it's not how much you know, it's if people (not just teenagers) know that your trying to understand them then they will try their hardest for you.My wife and I have just moved to Seattle, and I, out of education. I'm hoping to see what other ways I can use my skills.
