Integrated Work Team Manager and Control Account Manager for HMS Defender. I manage the mechanical workforce who are delivering HMS Defender's Upkeep. I am responsible for the safety of my team and for the quality of the work that is being delivered. I am responsible for adherence to schedule and budget.I am responsible for forecasting the level of resource that I require and requesting the appropriate level of resource from the business.I am responsible for deconflicting work with the other Integrated Work Team Managers for the other trades.I am line manager to a number of Team Leaders and their work teams.

I assisted the Project Manager in delivering planned and unplanned maintenance as well as Capability Insertions for HMS Prince of Wales.I set priorities and resolved problems for our planning, scheduling, procurement and engineering teams. I was responsible for creating assumptions, exclusions and depencies as well as risks for projects and drawing down on these where appropriate. I was responsible for ensuring that change was planned for, costed and delivered during project delivery. I delivered daily briefs to Ship's Staff to inform them of progress and deconflict work. I deployed to Rosyth for several months whilst HMS Prince of Wales underwent repairs to her propeller shafts as well as other planned maintenance that was brought forward to make best use of the time spent in dock. I was line manager to several Project Management Degree Apprentices.

I was a Graduate Project Engineer in a team that provides through life engineering support to a class of ships that are operated by a navy in the Middle East.I managed obsolescence by introducing replacement items to the ship and updating the ships operator and maintainer manuals.I provided engineering assurance by measuring the magnetic signature of parts being fitted to the ships and rejecting those that did not meet the required level.I sat on the Product Safety Committee for the class of ship and provided recommendations to the Chief Engineer based on current best practice in both the client navy as well as other navies.I deployed to the Middle East to provide in-country engineering support to a planned upgrade period. I successfully managed a number of design queries in country where the initial design was non viable.
