I was the Director of Public Policy at Edelson PC and part of the firm’s Public Client and Government Affairs Group. I advised federal, state, county, and local government officials on a variety of issues involving consumer protection, data security, privacy, and technology. My work included working alongside numerous public interest organizations and non-governmental organizations to defend current law and advocate for the adoption of new laws that better protect consumers.I have testified multiple times before committees in both the Illinois House of Representatives and the Illinois Senate. I have also guest lectured at the Chicago-Kent College of Law and am frequently asked to speak at town halls, public forums, and conferences involving issues such as privacy, net neutrality, data security, and technology.

Practiced a wide variety of law, including civil and criminal litigation, appellate work, family law, employment law, and corporate law. Extensive experience in research, writing and arguing motions, drafting complaints, preparing memoranda and discovery, drafting appellate briefs, and drafting corporate bylaws. In addition, successfully prepared a medical marijuana dispensary application for a licensed dispensary.

Worked specifically in areas to help implement the rule of law in Kosovo, help resolve international water diplomacy issues, and completed a comprehensive ceasefire agreement resource manual.

Research, wrote memoranda, and gave policy recommendations on how each component could better protect the individual if civil rights or liberties were violated. Also dealt with legislation concerning immigration, ADA issues.

Involved in a semiweekly lecture series and had the unique opportunity to partake in intimate discussions with national leaders, former government agency workers and leading scholars on past and present issues pertaining to the Middle East.

Assisted in hosting numerous events pertaining to the Council’s Foreign Affairs Series, Author Series, Embassy Series, and Annual Summer Institute on International Affairs for High School Educators involving a variety of prominent speakers. Prepared biographies on speakers and blogs of events.

Researched the effectiveness of the West Bank Barrier in thwarting suicide terrorist attacks and did a comparative examination of its deterrence effect with other nations' efforts, such as the Korean DMZ, the Kuwaiti-Iraqi border, and Northern Ireland. Completed a research paper with the other members of group regarding our findings.
