I am a 2L at the University of Tennessee College of Law. My competitive nature has always motivated my passion as a dedicated worker who is always ready to learn more and improve. I was a volunteer at Legal Aid of East Tennessee where I gained valuable legal assistance by working to assist attorneys with veterans in need of legal advice. Also, I worked as an intern for Mary Ward, an experienced attorney for over thirty-two years and candidate for municipal judge of Knoxville. As a student who majored in Economics, my areas of expertise include business law and identifying specific economic trends. Utilizing my strong writing and mathematical skills, I can effectively apply my knowledge in a variety of economic and legal positions. Notably, my experiences with econometrics projects and as a school newspaper writer and editor have allowed me to strengthen these skills. Currently, my goal is to graduate law school to eventually pursue a career as a business lawyer.After one year in law school, I have acquired many skills and habits to make myself a great lawyer. This summer, I have continued working with Ms Ward and gained experience writing motions and researching legal questions. My legal writing is my strongest skill, and it has allowed me to become a better arguer, communicator, and critical thinker. Finally, I attend court with Ms. Ward almost every day and have gained invaluable experience in litigation and interviewing clients.I possess a clear focus on where I need to go and how to achieve my goals, and it is a priority of mine to always meet deadlines and make progress in a timely manner. I have applied these skills throughout all of my jobs and as a student, and I will continue to do so in future positions.
