Passionate about understanding and advocating for vulnerable populations, I am currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Florida, while also pursuing my Ph.D. in Criminology. My academic journey began with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Criminology and Psychology from Florida State University.During my undergraduate years, I had the privilege of serving as a Research Assistant in Dr. Plant's lab, where I honed my skills in research methodology and data analysis. Following this, I dedicated two years to Smiths Williams Service Center, where I combined my academic knowledge with practical experience as a tutor and counselor. My time there allowed me to engage directly with the community, providing support and mentorship to those in need. The additional 200 hours of community service here solidified my commitment to understanding and addressing the challenges faced by the minority population.My research focuses on bringing attention the factors influencing vulnerable demographics, particularly within the juvenile justice system. I am proud to have contributed to published work in this area and am eager to continue exploring avenues for promoting community-based programs and enhancing juvenile justice initiatives.Looking ahead, I am enthusiastic about leveraging my academic and practical experiences to drive meaningful change. I aspire to contribute further to the discourse surrounding juvenile justice and community programs, ultimately striving to create a more equitable and supportive environment for all.
