Jacqueline Smith is a Visual Arts Educator who brings joy and rigor into her art classes! She currently teaches Visual Arts to preschool through second grade students, using a combination of music, visuals and SEL to reinforce learning. Jacqueline has formerly worked as the Lower Elementary Visual Arts Teacher at Match Community Day Charter Public School with a focus of working with PreK- Second grade students. She has previous experience working with students from PreK- Grade 5 in the same role. She originally joined MCD’s community as an Associate Teacher serving third grade students. She is expecting to obtain her Masters degree in Education through the Sposato Graduate School of Education in the Spring of 2023.Before working in Boston, Jacqueline was formerly a Preschool Teacher at The Partnership School of Cape Cod, where she was responsible for teaching preschool students 2.9 years - 3.5 years old. Her duties included maintaining a safe and creative environment for learning and play, as well as an open line of communication with parents and staff. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in May, 2018. She recieved her Bachelor of Arts in Art and a Minor in Arts Management. She was a Resident Adviser for MCLA's campus community, where she was responsible for the overall administration of her assigned residence area, as well as the general welfare of the students who lived there. As a substitute teacher at Cape Cod Child Development, she provided a clean, safe, healthy and supportive environment in order to help assist in the growth and development of school-age children. Many of these previous experiences are all skills and responsibilities Jacqueline still keeps in her every day practice at her current position. Safety, Social Emotional Learning, and Rigorous Curriculum are at her highest priority, and are reflected in her current positions.
