As Senior Motion Designer, I oversee motion design and strategy across most campaigns. I’m brand guardian for key accounts, including Lionsgate UK, with other recent clients including Netflix, Sky, Sony, Amazon, and Universal Pictures. I specialise in social-first art direction and design. However, my role is varied and includes video editing and graphic design. I lead on assets conceptually from beginning to end and manage video/motion workflows and resourcing. Technical Skills — I hold expertise in After Effects, with excellent knowledge of Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D, and Red Shift. I often incorporate sound design into my work, built using Audition. Although I’ve moved to C4D, my 3D background is in Blender. I have a strong understanding of typography and layout and have a working knowledge of Illustrator. Ideation — I collaborate with the Creative team to create design-focused, social-first concepts for pitches and active campaigns.Art Direction — My conceptual designs have a motion focus, with storytelling always at their heart. I often lead a campaign’s art direction, with recent highlights including Netflix’s Ragnarok series 3. Our campaigns have a social focus and I craft with each platform in mind. Presenting — I have excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence in presenting creative ideas both internally and externally. Leadership and Mentoring — I manage and mentor junior members of the team, sharing knowledge and working with them on their career progression and personal development.

I directed, produced, and post-produced CGI films that have been exhibited in national and international contemporary art galleries, and was commissioned by Channel 4 to create a short film for RANDOM ACTS, their experimental film series. I also presented my research publicly during lectures, symposiums, and artist talks at sites including Nottingham Contemporary, The Collection (Lincoln), and Caraboo Projects (Bristol). On a freelance basis, I have delivered workshops in video production and animation techniques to young person groups.

As part of the motion graphics team, I created localisations of film trailers, bumpers, TV spots, and other promotional content for the campaigns of major blockbuster releases of high-profile clients, including Warner Brothers, Sony, and Fox. Additionally, I concepted unique social spots for film and home entertainment campaigns. The following skills and traits allowed me to succeed in the role:• Exhibiting excellent communication when collaborating with numerous producers and colleagues simultaneously, across multiple projects.• Producing precise, high-quality content to hourly deadlines.• Understanding a client’s brief and responding with several creative solutions.• Remaining thorough and detail-orientated to ensure all content created meets social, online, and broadcast specifications.• Combining excellent technical skills with an eye for design, colour theory, and typography.

I provided specialist knowledge of 3D animation to the University of Nottingham’s Digital Humanities department, assisting in the production of a VR project. This role included training staff and MA students, and overseeing the project’s creative direction.

I was invited by Nottingham Trent University to deliver a series of workshops to BA Fine Art students that introduced them to 3D animation and visual effects using Blender and After Effects. The lessons were split into two categories;• Blender — Introduction to the user interface, environment design, ocean simulation, material nodes, lighting, cameras and rendering images.• After Effects — Introduction to the user interface, digital visual effects, composting and rendering.

Reporting to the Director, I oversaw the day-to-day of running of BACKLIT’s studios and supported the needs of its 45 resident artists and 23 associate artists. I reviewed all studio applications, interviewed potential candidates, created contracts for new members and undertook health and safety inductions. I liaised with external organisations regarding studio provision and artist development, and maintained financial systems that monitored studio rent. I also created new studio policies, organised and lead quarterly studio meetings, created a quarterly newsletter and was the main contact for all studio inquiries via telephone and email.

Delta Sorority was a self-initiated research and curatorial project that worked to provide a platform for the promotion and development of emerging artists working with digital media. I coordinated Delta Sorority's digital residency, in which I constructed a purpose-built website that became a platform for the research of seven international digital artists, and coordinated a screening at BACKLIT Gallery of the work of a further six artists. I also completed a two week residency within Nottingham Trent University, during which I mentored undergraduate students, facilitated workshops, and invited them to collaborate on ongoing research.
