Electro-mechanical Design Development Engineer,The role included the inspection and re-design of mechanical components that were used in a new range of impeller fans.

Over 10 week placement, worked with world renowned Lean thinking expert Johan Majlov.Played a role in cross functional world class manufacturing team focused on improving inspection section of manufacturing process.Engaged a team of 15 employees to develop an improved layout of inspection area where they worked. Designed new layout based upon employees initiatives, organised on-site contractors to remove all equipment, install several 12" drop trays for power and network cables, then return equipment into new positions. New layout reflected employees design criteria, reduced employee movement with heavy boxes, reduced logistical movement of boxes and improved the safety of the environment for all employees in section whilst re purposing un-used space. .

High level risk to operational capability analysis on factory machinery.Involved mapping process of goods in to goods out, identifying importance of each piece of machinery to the continuous running of the plant.Creation of a document containing information detailing (in some cases) down to the individual component the importance of that component and how likely it is to fail. This allowed for the calculation of risk to continuous operation of plant.All high risk components/machinery identified, were found replacement parts to be held in internal store house and details of what to do in the event of a failure of this component.
