I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2018 and have become an experienced researcher with a broad skill set. My career thus far has afforded me the opportunity to help bring life saving medical devices to market, run preclinical studies for novel gene therapy drugs, and work within diverse teams of qualified professionals.I have been fortunate enough to work for one of the leading companies in gene therapy, and the experience I have gained is invaluable. As part of a team, it has been my responsibility to plan and implement pharmacology and toxicology studies to test the safety and efficacy of innovative gene therapies. My work is cross-functional in nature and requires excellent communication with the various groups I work with to ensure a timely completion of projects. Each week I need to adapt to a new set of challenges, and have the ability to problem solve under pressure. My time with CRISPR has been a welcome challenge, and has motivated me to become the best version of myself.Working in a CRO was a rewarding experience; the demand for a higher-level skill set allowed me to learn and grow rapidly. I mastered various dosing techniques, tissue and blood collection, implantation, and many other skills in order to become a valuable member of the team. These skills afforded me the opportunity to work on a surgical team providing preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative care as well as performing surgeries. My other responsibilities included reviewing and revising SOPs, generating data templates, and working with study directors and managers to identify and resolve problems. The experience I have gained working in biocompatibility has been indispensable, and the work I completed helped people worldwide get the medical devices they need.
