James Hall represents clients in intellectual property disputes and related matters, providing sound counsel that makes sense from both a legal and strategic business perspective. Before entering the practice of law, he worked as a petroleum refinery process engineer, where he focused on optimizing refinery operations to maximize product yields and refinery profitability. James bring that same focus and attention to detail to his client’s legal matters, helping them achieve the best possible resolutions at the lowest possible expense.James has extensive experience in all aspects and phases of litigation, including appeals, and involving a wide range of technologies, including oilfield services and equipment, electrical and computer systems, chemical products and processes, and consumer products. James’s clients have come to rely on his competence and concentration in specific areas of intellectual property law, including patent litigation and AIA Post Grant Proceedings, where he has been recognized as one of the top 50 best performing attorneys in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB). James also counsels clients in other intellectual property matters, including patent invalidity and non-infringement opinions, licensing and related negotiations, and due diligence in mergers and acquisitions.Outside the intellectual property arena, James possesses broad experience in other areas of complex commercial and civil litigation, including product liability, breach of contract, insurance coverage, fraud, environmental litigation, and class action defense. James also actively engages in pro bono work, and currently assists indigent clients in obtaining guardianship over their special needs adult children. Outside the office, James enjoys camping and hiking with his family and exploring national and state parks across the country. He is an active member of his church where he teaches a church school class for young adults.
