Supervised geotechnical drilling and sample extraction in both bedrock and surficial deposits, which included the scheduling of contracted drill crews and the inherited responsibility of their actions. Responsible for accurate logs which directly affected the engineer’s recommendation to the client, proper mediation of drilled regions, groundwater measurements, and surveying of borehole locations.

Worked with Dr. Christian Frenzel, where data analyses using Matlab and Excel were conducted in order to assist in the optimization of tunnel boring operations for the Brenner Base Tunnel project; worked with Dr. Paul Santi, developing a mathematical relationship between the engineering properties of various rock types with the parameters controlled by differential drilling operations; and most recently worked with Brian Asbury investigating the flexural toughness property of both shotcrete and concrete using the steps outlined by ASTM standard C1550, and also am taking into account varying fiber densities, curing times, and primary compositions and how these controlling factors affect the flexural toughness of various samples.

Mountain Pass, Ca

Performed field work and lab work consisting of field mapping and logging over 35,000 feet of core which aided in an exploration project that’s purpose was to unveil unknown parts of the ore body which have been detached from the main body as a result of faulting. Performed a cost-benefit analysis that compared Niton XRF scan results with lab results, that justified the purchase and use of Niton XRF portable scanners. Analyzed intrusion of carbonatite vein using samples from pit and model produced by Vulcan.
