In my role as a Project Engineer at Hazen Research, I specialize in hydrometallurgical experimental design and project management, taking projects from initial concept to successful completion. I design and oversee the construction of large-scale reactors for advanced chemical reaction modeling, and I'm actively involved in benchtop experimentation. My expertise extends to scaling these experiments from benchtop models to full-scale operational reactors, all based on my original designs.I adeptly interpret large datasets, applying this analysis to optimize process efficiencies through chemical modeling and mass balances. As an intern in the Department of Energy’s Community College Interns program at General Atomics, I played a key role in automating a glow discharge polymerization reactor, critical for producing fuel targets for Inertial Confinement Fusion Reactions. Stationed in a clean room lab, I leveraged my detailed understanding of reactor operations and rigorous protocols to develop and implement LabVIEW code that automated material doping processes with micron-scale precision.This automation significantly enhanced reactor productivity and efficiency by reducing operational times and the need for constant human oversight. My contributions extended beyond technical skills, showcasing my ability to communicate complex processes effectively through both a detailed poster presentation and a formal podium presentation, summarizing the project’s impact and my role in its execution.

In my position, I played a crucial role in developing SPCC (Spill Protection Control and Countermeasure) reports for every substation throughout the state of Colorado. These plans were meticulously crafted to ensure the safety and preparedness of these essential facilities, with each one being in full compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, showcasing our commitment to environmental responsibility and operational excellence.I had the privilege of working alongside a team of dedicated undergraduate interns, all under the mentorship of seasoned Professional Engineers.
