Hello there, I am James McMahon and I am a recent graduate from Queens University Belfast hungry to gain experience. When I was a child, I always wanted to know how things worked, constantly asking my parents "why?" to feed my desire for understanding. This continued when I played my old Gameboy Colour and asked them how it worked. From then I always wanted to know more about technologies we use on a daily basis. My focus soon shifted to the future of technology and what it holds in store for us, be that A.I., new Programming languages, or advancements with Cloud and quantum technology. It was my secondary school education that made me realise that I don't just want to see or theorise about the future of technology, but that I want to be involved with driving it forward, leading me to enrol with Queens University to study Computer Science. This allowed me to gain more knowledge about my passion and gave me to tools to chase a career in this industry.I bring 4 years of experience working with customers in fast paced and demanding environments in the hospitality sector together with the experience and tools provided to me in my university education. I also have 1 year of experience working in a challenging environment combining network security and customer satisfaction as part of the Information Technology Services (ITS) department of the Business Services Organisation.Now, having just graduated, I am ravenous for experience in professional environments using any and all technologies I can get my hands on, and grow my portfolio of projects. This industry demands innovation, and not just in technology, but also the people operating it. Thus, this means the people must constantly improve or they will stagnate. Lucky for me, I see life as one big experience, where everyday has a new lesson to teach and continual learning is a must. There will always be another problem to solve, or a new lesson to learn, and personally, I can't wait.
