James Mitchell (BEng, MIET) is an engineer and asset management professional with experience in strategic asset management, project and capital works coordination, project management and civil engineering.Currently working for the City of Holdfast Bay as Manager Engineering. James is responsible for the leadership, management and provision of high quality asset management, engineering, traffic and transport, environmental, coastal and capital program management services for Council. The position plays a key role in organisation’s strategic and operational leadership.In 2022 James was the recipient of the IPWEA Australasia Emerging Leader Award.James has been awarded the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s (IET) International Paul Fletcher Award for Young Engineers recognising outstanding leadership and contribution within the engineering and technology industry. James continues to volunteer for the IET as Chairperson of an international board of engineers focusing on inspiring, informing and influencing the global community of young engineers supporting and promoting technology innovation to meet the needs of society.
