After a successful career handling the financial and insurance needs of people, I chose to change careers mid-stream and go back to school for healthcare. Now I handle the more personal aspects of peoples needs and I love every minute of it. I’ve been with one particular disabled client for about twelve years, switching employers 4 times to stay with him. Currently, I ride with him to program and spend my day caring for his medical needs and facilitating activities and therapies that he would otherwise not be able to enjoy. His smile brightens my day and makes my “job” very easy indeed. Long term, I plan to establish a non-profit program and residence for more medically complex individuals who would otherwise slip through the cracks of our system.
