Rotation 1: Client Risk Solutions. The team is responsible for providing corporate clients with market insights, guidance, and risk management solutions to manage their interest rate and foreign exchange exposure. Rotation 2: Global Capital Markets, Chief Operating Office. The team is responsible for assisting with the operations of the Global Capital Markets, Global Syndicate and Credit Portfolio Management teams. Rotation 3: Natural Resources and Energy, Mining, Oil and Gas. The team is the Bank’s coverage team for mining, oil and gas clients and is responsible for managing the relationships of these clients.

I took on analyst-level work and focused primarily on an RTO of a South African Agribusiness and a Private Kenyan Port and Logistics Company. My main task was to write parts of the deal prospectus, namely the business overviews of both companies, the industry overviews of both companies and risks to the deal. This required me to research and refer to many precedent documents to allow me to quickly learn and adapt to the style, tone and content of a deal prospectus and ultimately handle my responsibilities. I would also communicate quite frequently with other members of the team to gain further insight to perfect my parts. Once completed, these parts were reviewed by the CFO and my work was approved to be published in the final deal prospectus sometime in H2 2019. Other work included developing slide decks, attending advisory meetings, helping clients with various tasks and working directly with the CFO to determine a potential Hong Kong partnership.

My work entailed me to serve food and drinks to a diverse set of customers within the Financial district of London. The work forced me to sharpen my communication skills while working with a very diverse group of colleagues from a range of countries and serving drinks and food to many different customers. This client facing role allowed me to develop my personable skills as well as how to handle pressure and manage pressure in the public eye. My ability to communicate and organize amongst a team was recognized by my managers, and as a result, I was instructed to train incoming bartenders as well as help facilitate team cohesion and the development of more efficient processes (e.g. preparation before service, closing procedures) in the company’s other restaurants. This resulted in a much better intake process of new bartenders and cut down service times inside the bar.
