As the Woodflow forester in the Atlantic Region, I am primarily responsible for all aspects of the harvesting process to ensure our annual revenue plan is met. This includes: harvest scheduling, pre-harvest cruises and planning, sale setup, contract setup, marketing and selling timber, moving and managing loggers, and post-harvest BMP inspections. Additionally, I am the region’s certified remote pilot and take care of flying cutovers after harvest with the drone and delineating out the post-harvest shape in Arcmap to calculate acreage for reforestation.

My primary role as Atlantic Region Silviculture Forester consisted of the planning and oversight of all silvicultural activities on over 86,000 acres of company land in Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia. These responsibilities include mechanical site prep, chemical site prep, herbaceous weed control, woody release treatments, fertilization and regeneration. Outside the scope of silviculture, I was involved with other wood flow and harvest scheduling activities such as forest inventories, periodic logger checks, and timber sale setup.
