Ceo, Brand Strategist, Owner
CurrentJames Clark Design Inc., started 27 years ago and the company was built on a foundation of partnership, trust and a true dedication to meeting and surpassing client needs and expectations that remains the company’s reputation today. It was created with major visual branding systems and identities for corporations internationally, including Westin Hotels, Starbucks, Kenworth Trucks, Weyerhaeuser and Microsoft. We developed the first comprehensive brand merchandisingsystem for Microsoft’s software products, currently showcased in the Microsoft Museum. On a joint project for Microsoft and Apple Computers, our brand system was later recognized by Microsoft as “The Best Use of the Microsoft Brand System” from an outside business partner. Two decades ago, when the Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) of Washington State selected James Clark Design to guide them through the creation of a new name and identity, the program developed for them resulted in a successful renaming of EECU as Rainier Pacific Bank. After receiving national recognition and industry awards for this project, the company was sought out by financial institutions around the country to help guide them through their own successful name change and branding system on a range of projects such as annual reports, advertising campaigns, direct mail, marketing and collateral and branch merchandising.Graduating with honors from Art Center College of Design, one of the most prestigious design institutions in the world, I was honored with the recognition by Champion Corporation as one of the Top 12 New Designers in the nation. I have had the privilege of serving regionally on the boards of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the American Marketing Association and Seattle Advertising Federation. Some of my work has been published in numerous industry trade publications including Communication Arts, Marketing Magazine, The Best of Print, How Magazine and Step-by-Ste
