Hi there,I'm James Leach, 28 years old and currently work in the Office for Product Safety and Standards in the Local Authority Unit as a Delivery Coordinator. In my current role, I have a key role in managing stakeholder relationships, maintaining engagement channels with external stakeholders, logistics behind corporate events and general administration. As part of my role in events, I was the logistic organiser for a key stakeholder event that was hosted in Bournemouth for heads of Local Authorities. After many years of the team attending the event to varying degrees of success, I aided in developing and delivering on an idea for a Regulatory Hub which consisted of five national regulators coming together to deliver key messaging for the conference delegates. From the conception of the idea to producing materials and representing the hub, the event was a big success resulting in an increase in stakeholder engagement.I have also taken on additional work in creating a written induction for new team members, helping new colleagues feel more at home within the team - something that has been well received by management and new colleagues. Before joining I worked in HMRC within the Surge and Rapid Response Team. In my year with HMRC I was part of 3 different areas of work; aiding with emergency passports and the rush over summer 2022, being a big part of the Ukrainian visa work as well as ending my HMRC career within the Albanian nationals scheme. Before starting in the civil service in 2022, I spent five years in retail, half of that time I was the Visual Merchandising supervisor for a medium-sized store, in charge of all VM based activities for a small team.
