Gardener
Current- Maintain landscapes for various sites throughout Prince George’s County- Assist the Team Lead with performing landscape bed preparation such as planting annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees- Prunes, plants and transplants trees- Operates mowers, a series of tractors (Bobcat, backhoe, front-end loader, etc), small motorized equipment, utility vehicles and commonly used hand tools- Maintains turf; includes removal and laying of sod- Assist with the diagnoses of plant issues, such as drainage problems and pests; applies pesticides and fertilizers- Operates variety of hand and power tools associated with the landscaping industry- Responsible for landscape bed maintenance which includes weeding, fertilizing, watering, raking and mulching - Operate snow blowers and shovels to remove snow from sidewalks- Currently part of snow operations; plow snow for Prince George’s County- Train less-experienced staff on certain tasks- Registered Spray Technician
