The work involved multiple microcontrollers on a custom board, as well a supporting SOM module.- Primary responsibilities included architectural design; coding in C++ for both Linux and for direct execution on microcontrollers; debugging via JTAG; scripting on Linux platform- Designed and developed template-based, STL-like container library suitable for microcontrollers (no heap allocation)- Guided team in adoption of GIT and introduced continuous integration (CI) using pull-request workflow- Designed and developed low-memory, layered comms protocol suitable for reliable serial communication between microcontrollers- Used profiling to identity and fix performance hotspots- Used static analysis to identify and fix stack-use hotspots- Refactored threaded REST server into event-driven REST server (increased throughput; reduced complexity; reduced CPU load)- Guided team in the use of Inversion of Control principle to facilitate mock objects in unit testing
