My primary function in this role involves assisting any of the library's patrons with all of their reference needs. This ranged from simple tasks such as directing a patron to the appropriate section or locating materials to more research oriented queries such as map directions or retrieving articles. The role also required knowledge of basic computer functions due to the high amount of basic computer questions that would be frequently asked by the populace. In essence, I serve as an all-around library worker available to fill any necessary role required for me.

My main duty in this role is to provide administrative support and reports to the Chair and vice-chair in the Division of Curriculum & Teaching. As the solo Librarian of the Manhattan branch of LIBI, I had the role of assuming responsibility for the daily operation of the school's library. This included cataloging library material, utilizing the many functions of the circulation system LibrarySoft, marketing library services, performing reference work, responding to requests by students and faculty alike and informing both students and teachers of the library's functions. As the Librarian, I was the prime representative of its function as a member within the college community. This involved supporting and enforcing the library's Code of Conduct to the students as well as presenting the library as it's face to newcomers of the school.I also had the role of preparing reports used by the various college departments for reviews and accreditation by utilizing Microsoft Office. I needed to calculate, graph and accurately display the statistics of the library's usage, circulation, patron count and catalog.Through my experience as the Librarian, I utilized the circulation service LibrarySoft as well as my knowledge of various online library sources such as ESBSCO and Credo among others to properly teach and educate how to research using the school's available databases.

As the director of the library for GIT, I had the role of utilizing the Library to it's fullest abilities for the benefit of the school and and determining the various needs for library information services and resources in accordance with the available budget. Among the many roles, I was in charge of, I was part of a unit with the Academic Dean, Department Chairs, and faculty in selecting library materials that support the academic programs. In order to properly assist with what the Globe community expected from their library, I performed circulation, reference and literature searches for students and all users of the GIT Library while also servicing as an informal consultant to staff/students regarding local information and referral services I also developed education/training programs regarding information services after soliciting needs from professional staff and students. I also managed a small staff of assistants for scheduling, library materials and continued library success.
