A graduate of the University of Kansas’s African American Studies program, I am interested in the effect of urban planning, development, architecture, and design on equitable outcomes for communities. Coming from a different background, I bring a unique perspective and experience to the design field. I have grown my role from being an administrative assistant to become an Associate with work in research, strategic communications, operations, special projects, and building collaborations with potential partners.Along with a core team, I helped launch BNIM’s Address Initiative for Equitable Development, which is an intentional effort to find solutions and create positive projects. I am a graduate of the Healthy Communities Leadership Academy, which teaches participants a multi-disciplinary, multi-pronged approach to create healthy and vibrant communities and people. Most recently, I have been the development manager the Iola Schools Redevelopment, a BNIM-led affordable housing project in rural Southeast Kansas. I weave together my community involvement and efforts at BNIM to help address a variety of challenges in Kansas City and beyond. I served on the Kansas City Missouri City Plan Commission.
