I am currently working as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Research Associate at Weir Advanced Research Centre at the University of Strathclyde. The project I am working on involves Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) simulations within the Mining industry and specifically how it can be used to improve the design process.I graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2023. I studied MEng Mechanical Engineering where I achieved a Distinction grade. In my final year I was awarded the Frederic Barnes Waldron Best Student prize for being top of my year.While at university I was a member of the Formula Student team, University of Strathclyde Motorsport, for 4 years. I became Head of Cost in 2021 where we reached the final of the Cost & Manufacturing event at Formula Student UK. The following year we improved upon this and won the event at FSUK 2022, the teams first event win in 8 years. In my final year in 2023, the team achieved it's highest ever finish of 4th at FSUK and I travelled with the team to compete at Formula Student Germany, where we finished inside the top 50 and capped off a fantastic time in the team perfectly. Being a member of this team was the highlight of my time at university and taught me many valuable skills about management, communication and working in a team, as well as some hard skills like Excel and engineering drawings and CAD.
