I connect the military community with civilian companies to create economic opportunity and a strong and diversified workforce. I am responsible for conducting outreach, program coordination, administration, and support of the Fellows Program, part of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s veteran employment initiative, Hiring Our Heroes. Areas of responsibility include managing a local Fellows program site, marketing of program, program site operational planning, program support, application processing, and data management, build and maintaining relationships with employers, community partners, and relevant Federal government agencies (DOL, DOD, etc).

I provide high-touch, individualized support to ensure veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses are developing professional skills and connecting with employers. I evaluate candidate profiles and provide resource and referral services to job seekers to ensure employment readiness. I accurately review employment profiles to include resumes and digital profiles and ensure candidates are properly prepared for hiring events.

During my time as the Center Operations Manager and Volunteer Coordinator I was responsible for providing inclusive programming opportunities for service members and their families. Upon employment, the Camp Hansen USO was strictly for single service members. I brought forth innovation and support to specific communities and exceeded the regional expectation by 175%. In addition, I developed a new concept for family programming, a program called L.E.A.P, primarily serving home-school communities through learning, engaging, activity, and play. This program was adopted by multiple centers across the island and continues to grow CONUS. In addition to programming, volunteer recruitment and retention was at the heart of the USO center operations mission. I coached, managed, and developed a team of 60 center volunteers along with a rotating database of 100-150 volunteers during unit deployment rotations. Volunteer retention was at an all time high with 100% volunteer involvement during volunteer appreciation month.
