Under general direction and in compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, plans, coordinates, and administers the operations of Parks and Recreation facilities, fields, courts, and community centers. Interfaces with customers, establishing park/facility use schedules, administering rental agreements and contracts, ensuring revenues are received and accounted for, and payables are processed in a timely manner. Coordinates with the Parks & Grounds division to ensure parks and facilities are opened and closed at established times and required maintenance and repairs are performed. Facilitates partnerships with outside organizations to provide recreation and athletic programs utilizing City recreation parks and facilities. Supports marketing personnel in the creation and implementation of marketing strategies and timelines for contractual rental opportunities. Prepares and submits various reports. Assists with the development and management of the recreation facility operating budget. Serves as the City staff liaison for the City of Greenville’s Youth Commission.

Responsible for innovating, developing, implementing and evaluating new and enhanced recreation programs in a variety of categories based on community demand and trends. Conducts program needs assessments. Creates and implements marketing strategies and timelines for recreation operations and programs. Promotes all recreation programs through publicity and marketing, utilizing program brochures, flyers, social media and other communication tools. Manages contracted programs. Serves as the City staff liaison for the City of Greenville’s Youth Commission. Coordinates with schools, colleges, and universities to build stronger relationships and internship opportunities. Assists in researching and applying for grants for the Recreation Division. Supervises assigned Recreation staff.

Responsible for managing McPherson Park facilities in downtown Greenville. Assist in developing and administering Grants for the Parks and Recreation Department and prepare performance reports as required. Interact with human service agencies, coalitions, and other agencies for partnership programs and grant opportunities. Assisting the Recreation Division in developing and implementing and evaluating community programs at five centers.

Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and supervises youth activities and sports programs. Supervises and evaluates employees and coaches assigned to assist in youth acitivitiesa and athletic programs.
