My role broadly encompasses end-to-end management of testing projects, including responding to customers, scoping and quoting of work, ensuring project completion, and managing maintenance tasks. I routinely schedule approximately AUD$20K worth of work weekly for myself and four technical officers, as well as being responsible for team/site management, and workflow and resource planning. As a NATA signatory for conveyor belt testing, I ensure compliance with Quality Assurance systems including ISO9001 and NATA.Most notably I recently developed a report based on a test procedure conducted in relation to an accident investigation. This report was subsequently tabled in legal court, providing evidence of the quality and veracity of my report-writing skills. Previously I undertook responsibility for up to 80% of site management tasks on behalf of the Manager, including project management, calibrations, purchasing and workflow planning. This provided an opportunity to demonstrate my aptitude for a management role.In 2013 I become the Chairman of the company’s Workplace Health and Safety Committee based on my detailed understanding of the new Nationalised Workplace Health and Safety Regulation and its requirements.

Hired as a casual engineer, I assisted CATHRX Biomedical Engineers in all elements of development and validation of heart catheter products. This included drafting quality documents and work instructions to comply with relevant Quality Assurance systems. In addition I designed workflow documents to ensure efficiency of workforce and timely completion of tasks. Further I assisted in the investigation of bio-contamination sources.

Fleet Acquisition Group

As the only mechanical engineer within the Fleet Acquisition Group, I was accountable for contract administration. This included supporting non-technical managers with deciphering contractual performance requirements for the purchase of new vehicles. I also translated this information into measureable performance tests, and conducted testing on each vehicle to ensure the relevant contractual agreement was met. Utilising exceptional project management skills, I conducted and managed a range of engineering projects. This included identifying and mitigating potential safety risks involved in testing procures. It also included workflow planning for the removal of multiple vehicles and drivers from the fleet, managing on- and off-site testing areas, and coordinating STA staff, testing consultants and third party stakeholders.Most notably I conducted and managed the investigation and evaluation of the fuel monitoring system for the entire bus fleet. The objective of this project was to identify the statistical accuracy of the fuel monitoring system and report various parameters. This included the optimum accuracy achievable by the system.

As a graduate engineer I specialised in improving product quality and reducing production downtime by streamlining and improving manufacturing processes. Within this role I gained invaluable knowledge of industry values, lean engineering practices and general manufacturing workplace culture.Achievements included reduced machine stoppages and downtime by 30%, by customising and reprogramming the Airveyor pressure system. In addition I supported the refurbishment of a range of manufacturing equipment required for general factory operation. This included liaising with contractors, establishing the scope of work, and managing project costs and time restraints.

While completing my final year of university, I tutored students in the SolidWorks CAD drawing program. I also tutored a Professional Engineering subject aimed at improving undergraduate skills in communication, liability awareness, Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), leadership and teamwork.
