Selected by department faculty to assist with faculty research projects, departmental events, and acted as a point of contact to students for the department. In this role, I worked both independently and as part of a team. I organized and digitized files, proof-read materials, and gathered source materials. Additionally, I created and maintained mailing lists.

Nominated by faculty, and selected by Academic Support and Enrichment to act as a peer tutor for Psychology and Communication. In this position, I learned how to present ideas in a variety of ways based on learning styles. Furthermore, I acted as a mentor to my tutees and was responsible for keeping their sessions and grades confidential.

I conducted two ten-week self-led research projects. My research focused on representations of hearing loss in society and the impact of current representations on those who are hard of hearing. I presented my research at the Ohio Communication Association Conference (2016) and won an award for Best Poster. I also presented my work at Central States Communication Association conference in 2018.
