About Jane Ryan

I have over 20 years experience in the water industry, working mostly on program and policy design, consultation and implementation. I use my education and stakeholder work experiences early in my career to bring a contemporary and adaptive policy approach to problem-solving, including a strong focus on involving individual and community input to strengthen any outcome. In particular, identifying systemic and deliberative ways to better involve rural communities and First Nations people in water resource management.I have experience in managing teams of people undertaking work in technical and operational areas - water markets, environmental management, regulatory and pricing and emergency management. I have also managed teams initiating programs and trialling innovative approaches in Aboriginal water programs, socio-economic analysis and successful economic approaches for natural resource management outcomes.I have also had experience in managing teams delivering statewide programs and projects through regional networks and teams prioritising strong partnerships, fit for purpose governance models and strong evaluation cultures for sharing and improving practice. And I'm the current President of the mighty Darebin Falcons - a iconic and pioneering stand alone sports club for girls, women and gender diverse people to play soccer, aussie rules, cricket and 8 ball. Go Falcs!
