My name is Thomas Janik and I am an industrial designer from Chicago who loves spending time working with my hands and exploring new ideas to their highest potential. I see design as a perfect way to create new and exciting user experiences.Growing up in the Chicago suburbs I moved into the city going to school at the University of Illinois Chicago and earned my bachelor’s in design. After I began a short career designing for trade shows until the 2020 pandemic. today I’m working on Janik Makes, my custom woodworking presence. I work with clients to make new furnishings custom to their unique needs.When I'm not creating something I'm experiencing the world myself, I have always been an avid outdoors enthusiast, many thanks to my long connections with the Boy Scouts of America. I really enjoy learning new skills, histories and ideas as those ultimately become a crucial influence on my creativity.
