Under the mentorship of Dr. Timothy Hohman, I leverage advanced statistical tools to identify genetic variants implicated in risk and resilience to Alzheimer’s Disease. This work is driven by collaborations between the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer’s Center and extramural researchers, with the ultimate goal of developing precision medicine approaches to AD and related dementias.

Worked alongside other scientists and business professionals to advance drug repurposing clinical trials, including study start-up, protocol development, regulatory documentation, and innovative projects leveraging Vanderbilt's de-identified biospecimen and electronic health record databases.

Conducted animal surgeries, behavioral scoring, tissue sectioning, immunofluorescence procedures, brain section imaging, and confocal image analysis as part of multiple NIH-funded research projects.

Sectioned fixed brain tissue using a cryostat and scored behavioral assays in a study investigating stress-induced opioid abuse relapse utilizing rodent models.

Investigated the role of antisense oligonucleotide length on CNS distribution in a rodent brain model. I created slides of fixed tissue sections using a cryostat, stained slides using immunofluorescence, processed scans of sectioned brain slides in ImageJ, assisted in animal surgeries, conducted probe-based qPCR, and presented the results of my research project to an audience of over 80 company scientists and executives.
