Served as an ESL Instructor where I created innovative lessons based on proven texts. I worked with students of all levels from beginner to advanced.

This hybrid position is designed to serve as both an Advisor to students and scholars as well as play a technical support role in the office. Duties for both areas of the position are listed below.-Ensured proper operation of SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System), a database operated by the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) division.-Advised on a multitude of issues including change of status, reinstatement, class registration, internships, graduation, social security issues, taxes, travel, and the various issues surrounding employment. Also responsible for fielding concerns on social and cultural issues for students and their families.-Served as a main presenter for incoming student orientation programs.-Served as an admissions liaison between the International Services Office and various campus admissions offices.-Management and coordination of physical and electronic data managed by the International Services Office. -Served as a DSO (Designated School Official) for a population of nearly 2000 F-1 students and an ARO (Alternate Responsible Officer) for the J-1 student and scholar population in SEVIS.-Supervise the procedural and technical aspects of all GW electronic batch transactions with SEVIS.

LADO is an ESL school for adults. The responsibilities of the Assistant Director were broad. A summary of duties carried out is below.-Coordinated Student Services for the school.-Served as the International Student Advisor for a student body of over 200. Handled all F-1 visa matters.-Interviewed, hired and trained staff and teachers. Directly supervised the evening and weekend staff of over 30 teachers and administrative assistants.-Handled scheduling of classes for five concurrent programs repeating every 30 – 60 days.-Planed and executed cultural events and outings for international students. Planed F-1 regulatory orientations for all incoming students. -Taught English as a Second language to adults in a multi-lingual class setting. Prepared innovative lessons using established texts and original material.

Employed by the Japanese public school system as the speaking and listening skills coordinator and American cultural representative within a district of 17 schools. Taught English and American culture to ages ranging from pre-k through junior high.
