The AURA programmes delivered online sales platforms to key RGA clients in the advisor, tele-sales and direct-to-consumer sales channels.Key achievements and duties included:- Managed project portfolio of 7 active clients across New Zealand and Australia. The number of active clients grew from 1 to 7 during my tenure. Project managed 3 project workstreams - contractual negotiations with suppliers, AURA implementation and testing and setup of Production Application Support organisation.My key achievements included:- Managed the negotiation of implementation services contracts with the 2 new suppliers delivering the key Protection applications (FIS delivering ALIS, RTP delivering AURA).- Managed the RTP / AXA working relationship to deliver the IT systems components of AURA ahead of schedule and within agreed budget.- Managed a business team of underwriters to deliver AURA configuration on time and budget.Managed the Application Support Readiness workstream to complete Support & Maintenance contracts and set up a revised support organisation involving the 4 key suppliers.

AXA Sun Life, a UK life and pensions company, embarked on a major change programme to reduce operating cost and IT systems complexity to maintain a viable consumer proposition in the “1% World”.Blueprint underwent a major replan in 2H2003 involving the engagement of a new programme management consultancy (IBM). I was contracted to provide programme management consultancy to AXA UK Executive during the replanning phase.My key achievements included:- Developed and maintained the programme deliverables matrix used to track all major programme deliverables during and beyond the replan activity.- Compiled Blueprint Strategic Plan submissions that were presented to the AXA UK and Global (Paris) executive.- Facilitated workshops on AXA programme structure and supplier management strategy.- Lead a project planning team to review and validate the ‘Release’ project plan delivered by IBM.- Produced project plans against several delivery scenarios to determine cost & timescale variations.

Old Mutual Financial Network (OMFN) is a leading provider of annuity and life assurance products in the United States. It’s underwriting, policy administration and associated IT systems are outsourced to a number of US based Third Party Administrators (TPAs).The objective of the Nebraska project was to migrate policy administration from CSC to TAG Systems to reduce cost and risk. As as programme manager I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Nebraska Programme. My key achievements included:- Introduced programme governance to improve project management across the various workstreams, this included; product planning practices, risk and issue communication and management process and, change control process to reduce the delays and cost overruns that were occurring prior to my arrival.- Development and launch of the capability to process new business, for existing annuity products, one new life and one new annuity product, at the new TPA in Lincoln, Nebraska within replanned time and budget.- Management of the development and launch of a web based search facility used to access customer information across all of OMFN’s outsourcers.- Responsibility for the Nebraska programme budget (c$8m per year) including negotiation, set up, tracking of actuals and reporting.- Production and presentation of project progress pack to OMFN Executive Steering Committee.- Management of key executive stakeholders within OMFN and TPAs to resolve project issues including presentation of solution options and their impact on the business and programme.- Produced the overall programme plan and initiated a planning process at the new TPAs.- Management of resource teams from 5 suppliers (including OMFN).

The Group Systems Replacement Project was initiated at Unum to consolidate nine disparate insurance administration applications into a single, fully integrated, solution using a customised software package. Engaged to set up the project office processes, I was a core member of the project management team reporting directly to the Project Director. My duties expanded from project office to development of various management reports, set up and maintenance of the project budget and management of the testing workstream.My key achievements included:- Management of the Testing Team comprising 2 test managers and 14 full time testers.- Compiled the High Level Plan (HLP) and Project Definition Document (PDD) used in the Business Case approved by Unum’s board. The two documents outlined the structure and content of the project workstreams consisting of over 150,000 hours effort and using 60+ individual resources.- Set up and management of the project budget using NIKU (ABT) as a source system to consolidate resource actuals & forecasts across 7 different project streams. - Introduction of a “Control Pack” used by the project management team to assess the RAG status of key project milestones across all project workstreams.
