Old Mutual Financial Network (OMFN) is a leading provider of annuity and life assurance products in the United States. It’s underwriting, policy administration and associated IT systems are outsourced to a number of US based Third Party Administrators (TPAs).The objective of the Nebraska project was to migrate policy administration from CSC to TAG Systems to reduce cost and risk. As as programme manager I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Nebraska Programme. My key achievements included:- Introduced programme governance to improve project management across the various workstreams, this included; product planning practices, risk and issue communication and management process and, change control process to reduce the delays and cost overruns that were occurring prior to my arrival.- Development and launch of the capability to process new business, for existing annuity products, one new life and one new annuity product, at the new TPA in Lincoln, Nebraska within replanned time and budget.- Management of the development and launch of a web based search facility used to access customer information across all of OMFN’s outsourcers.- Responsibility for the Nebraska programme budget (c$8m per year) including negotiation, set up, tracking of actuals and reporting.- Production and presentation of project progress pack to OMFN Executive Steering Committee.- Management of key executive stakeholders within OMFN and TPAs to resolve project issues including presentation of solution options and their impact on the business and programme.- Produced the overall programme plan and initiated a planning process at the new TPAs.- Management of resource teams from 5 suppliers (including OMFN).
