He is the author on over 30 papers using agent-based technologies for the analysis and control of a wide range of systems. John's current interests are primarily in the application of hybrid cognitive and stigmergic swarming approaches to the control of unmanned systems. He has demonstrated swarming controlled of unmanned air and ground vehicles in multiple live demonstrations starting in 2004. He is currently working on new approaches to test and evaluation of autonomous systems, measuring trustworthiness of autonomous systems, learning and adaptation in swarms, and novel mechanisms for predicting complex adaptive behaviors.
