The LexisPSL In-house, Risk & Compliance team produces market-leading practical legal guidance and support for lawyers, risk and compliance officers and management teams working in-house or in private practice. In this role I assist with publishing new content and help to plug any identified key gaps in content.

I proofread mobility assessment and clinical reports. Confidentiality, an excellent standard of English and attention to detail were of paramount importance to this role. Reports were sent out from the service to clients, the DVLA, solicitors, clinicians and other professionals. They required fact checking and editing for grammar, punctuation, spelling and formatting. During lockdown, when the office was closed, I edited internal documents, including presentations.

I proofread strategic plans on various health topics.

I oversaw the editorial management of nine Practice Areas: Dispute Resolution, Personal Injury, Tax, Share Incentives, IP&IT, Practice Compliance, Practice Management, Local Government and Public Law. I managed the workloads of editors in the Philippines and the UK to ensure an efficient and high quality editorial service. I travelled to the Philippines to train new editors and build relationships and completed a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt continuous improvement project on turnaround times.

I updated content in line with legal changes, monitored news and developments, created training aids, product tested, liaised with marketing departments, dealt with customer queries and managed the team's social media. I was involved in working groups on processes and reviews and internal communications.

I project managed the writing, quality assurance and uploading of mini-summaries for complex legal documents on LexisLibrary for NewLexis. I was involved in training and commissioning UK freelancers and offshore editors. The mini-summaries and headings needed to be suitable for search engine optimisation purposes. I trained and supervised a junior member of the team and worked on a new starters onboarding pack.

As editor for PSL Practice Compliance and IP&IT, I edited and tested the content for successful product launches and beyond. I edited practical guidance, precedents, forms, policies, flowcharts and training aids in XML, Word and Excel. I led a project on PowerPoint and Visio house style and best practice. I was also involved in an early editing pilot with an offshore supplier.

I was the editor for Croner-i Health and Safety, Facilities Management and Hazardous Substances online products, an elearning product, looseleafs and a print newsletter. Tasks included preparing ealerts; writing editorials, editing news, features, legislation tracker and commentary topics; coding in XML, SGML and HTML; preparing PowerPoint presentations, podcasts and video presentations; user acceptance testing; and attending customer visits and industry events.
