I have worked in child development and behavior therapy related to addressing behavior and skill deficits since 2015. I have experience working with children from ages 12 months to 18 years with various developmental and psychological disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I began my journey in this field as a Child Development Specialist in the New Jersey Early Intervention System (NJEIS), and have worked in various clinics, private schools, and in-home therapy providers since.My ultimate goals in working with clients include increasing functional communication skills, decreasing maladaptive or interfering behaviors that compete with the child's everyday life, and promoting social opportunities and connection between the child's family members, peers, and any other person significant to their life. I also aim to assist families with the tools they need to establish boundaries and opportunities for connection with their children, and to give them the confidence to use these skills in their everyday lives and routines.My research interests include teaching functional communication skills, assessing and treating severe problem behavior, providing family training and related intervention, and using the principles of applied behavior analysis to treat other mental health diagnoses outside of ASD. I am looking to make a transition from my background in autism and developmental disabilities to health and wellness, fitness, and implementing behavior change protocols in related fields.
